The year is 1875, and Petrichora University has become one of the top magical academies in Europe. England is in the midst of the Victorian era, but many things are different. Magic has aided in the invention of a cleaner energy source. The streets are clear of smog, and sickness isn't so rampant. The fashion isn't the same, nor are the gender roles. Although guns have been invented, old-fashioned melee weapons are still used due to their ability to channel magic in a more creative and flexible way.
